US strikes Yemen after Huthis threaten Red Sea ships
The United States carried out a fresh strike Saturday on a Huthi rebel target in Yemen, U.S. Central Command said, after the Iran-backed militants warned of further attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
The strike on a Huthi radar site comes a day after scores of attacks across the country heightened fears that Israel's war with Hamas could engulf the wider region.
Erdoğan accuses US, UK of 'seeking bloodbath' in Red Sea
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has accused U.S. and British forces of seeking to turn the Red Sea into a "bloodbath" following pre-dawn airstrikes on rebel-held Yemen.
The military action early on Jan. 12 was in response to weeks of disruptive attacks on Red Sea shipping by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels, who claim solidarity with Gaza.

Hezbollah later announced the killing of a "commander" for the first time, naming him as Wissam Hassan Tawil. It said he died "on the road to Jerusalem" — the phrase used for fighters killed by Israel.
