Austria to deploy military on its borders with Italy

Austrian Defence Minister Hans Peter Doskozil told Austrian newspaper ‘Osterreich’ that 3 military battalions were ready to deploy in the state of Tirol in light of the refugee crisis. His new statements come a day after he told news outlets Saturday that tighter military border controls were necessary on the borders of Greece, Italy and Bulgaria to stem immigration flows.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu to discuss the World Humanitarian Summit to be held in Istanbul, along with Turkey's contribution to the anti-Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) efforts in Libya, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Unusual plane hijackings since 2001

Airplane hijackings such as the one that unfolded on March 29 involving an Egyptian airliner have become relatively rare since the September 11, 2001 terror attacks led to increased security.
