International cellphone calls and text messages within the European Union are due to become considerably cheaper as of May 15.

Starting on Wednesday, service suppliers will have to apply rates of up to 0.19 euros per minute for calls to cellphones in other EU member-states as well as Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and up to 0.06 euros per text message (SMS).

Sofia Buys Another 10 Second-hand Trams from Prague

The municipal company "Stolichen elektrotransport" will buy another 10 second-hand trams from Prague. The funds for the acquisition - 400 000 BGN will be provided by the Specialized Municipal Privatization Fund.

The trams must have been manufactured at the earliest in 1995. The unit value of one coach is about 40 000 BGN.

Fixed and mobile calls made from Romania to any country within the European Economic Area (the EU countries, plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) will not exceed 0.19 euro (excluding VAT) per minute, or 0.06 euro for a text message starting May 15, 2019, Romania's National Communications Regulation and Administration Authority (ANCOM) reported on Monday.
