Woman injured by low flying coast guard helicopter
A woman was injured by a Coast Guard helicopter that was flying low on Saturday in Prieria, Central Macedonia.
As a result of the low passage of a helicopter near the beachfront of Platamonas coast in Pieria, umbrellas and seats were swept away in front of a health center and a 42-year-old foreigner was injured.

Erdogan: Thessaloniki was taken away from us

North Macedonia Demands Compensation from Bulgaria if it has to Pay the "Russian Gas" Tax
If the extraordinary energy tax on the transfer and transit of Russian natural gas through Bulgarian territory is introduced for the Republic of North Macedonia, the country will request compensation from Bulgaria and additional support from the European Union.
This was announced by the Minister of Economy of North Macedonia, Kreshnik Bekteshi, quoted by BTA.

Architects lose 30,000 euros to Balkans tour scam
The owner of a tour company with its headquarters in İzmir is accused of defrauding 61 members of the Chamber of Architects branch in Denizli province of roughly 30,000 euros after signing a contract for a Balkans trip.
In April 2023, the chamber which organized a Balkans tour for its members met with Emine Yıldız, the owner of an Izmir-based tour company for the trip.

Government officials to survey fire-affected areas in Evros
A government delegation embarked on a visit to assess the areas affected by the fires in Evros, in northeastern Greece, on Monday.
Heading the delegation is State Minister Makis Voridis, who is joined by Citizen Protection Minister Ioannis Oikonomou, Rural Development and Food Minister Lefteris Avgenakis, and Alternate Interior Minister Thodoris Livanios.
US official voices hope North Macedonia will proceed with EU membership bid
A senior US State Department official on Friday voiced hope that North Macedonia will be able to approve politically difficult constitutional changes that would help its bid to join the European Union.
Gabriel Escobar, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Balkan policy, said during talks in the capital Skopje that the US strongly backs the country's EU accession bid.
Pilot job relocation scheme to start in the fall
A pilot job program plans to place 500 unemployed people from the region of Western Macedonia in seasonal farm jobs in the regional unit of Iraklio, on the island of Crete.
Western Macedonia has the highest unemployment rate among Greece's 13 regions, but moving around the country to find jobs has not been done at any significant level.
