Eurostat: 1 in 2 Greek companies uses social media
More than half (56%) the companies in Greece used social media in 2021 to promote their business activities, which is an increase of 19 percentage points from 2015 (37%), according to Eurostat data, which were published on the occasion of World Social Media Day on June 30. However, Greece remains well below the European average.

Turkish captain saves 95 migrants off Malta
A Turkish captain has saved the lives of some 95 irregular migrants abandoned on the Mediterranean Sea off Malta.
Some 92 Bangladeshi, two Egyptians and a Moroccan were trying to pass from Africa to Italy in a dinghy.
According to local reports, a Maltese Coast Guard aircraft detected the dinghy and made an official Mayday signal.

Albania Police Seizes Cocaine at Port of Durres
Albanian police on Wednesday seized 45.5 kg of cocaine found in a container in the Port of Durres during a police operation codenamed "Transit".
The company's administrator and a customs agent contracted by the company were detained on charges of trafficking in narcotics.

Slovenia 7th globally in environmental performance
Ljubljana – Slovenia ranks seventh out of 180 countries in the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), which is calculated by Yale University to assess the state of sustainable environmental care.
Denmark tops the rankings with a score of 77.9, followed by the UK with 77.7 and Finland with 76.5. Malta scored 75.2 points, Sweden 72.7 and Luxembourg 72.3.

One in every three Turks clinically obese: Report
Nearly a third of the Turkish population, or 32.1 percent, comprises obese people, whereas 66.8 percent of the population is either overweight or obese, according to a World Health Organization (WHO) report released during the 29th European Congress on Obesity in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
