Thousands protest in Mexico against gay marriage legalization

Thousands of people marched throughout Mexico Sept. 10 to protest President Enrique Pena Nieto's initiative to legalize gay marriage.

The National Front for the Family -- a coalition of conservative religious groups -- called for the protests, and is also planning a mass march for Sept. 24 in Mexico City.

Exporters call on envoys from 73 countries to spread Turkey's devotion to democracy

The Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM) has called for some 181 envoys and civil servants from 73 countries across the globe to talk about Turkey's devotion to democratic rule and robust economy in their countries and to boost cooperation with Turkey during a three-day meeting hosted in the Aegean province of Çanakkale on Sept. 2-4, the association said in a statement.

Turkey's first botanical expo opens in Antalya

The 2016 World Botanical EXPO, one of the largest horticultural shows in the world, opened its doors with an official ceremony on April 22 in the Mediterranean resort of Antalya.

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu and cabinet ministers attended this year's opening ceremony, along with a number of ministers from more than 10 countries. 

Mexican policewoman suspended after topless photo goes viral on social media (photos)

A police woman from Mexico was suspended for posting a selfie topless while on duty. Nidia Garcia, 34, took a photo of herself in her uniform with her breasts exposed in her patrol car. The image swept across social media and the mother of two was immediately relieved of her duties pending further investigations.

Berbatov, Martin Petrov Join Stoichkov's Birthday Show

Bulgaria's Dimitar Berbatov and Martin Petrov are the latest players to confirm their participation at the show which will celebrate the 50th birthday of Bulgarian football legend Hristo Stoichkov.

The show entitled "50 years number 8" (after Stoichkov's jersey number) will take place at Vasil Levski national stadium in Sofia on May 20.
