Higher traffic volumes at borders with Bulgaria, Montenegro

BELGRADE - Due to higher traffic volumes at the border crossings Gradina to Bulgaria and Spiljani to Montengro, passenger vehicles are waiting for around 45 minutes to leave Serbia on Sunday.

At the Batrovci border crossing, between Croatia and Serbia, the wait time is estimated at around 90 minutes, the Serbian Interior Ministry stated.

Montenegro Court Jails Former Mayor

Podgorica’s High Court on Thursday jailed 11 indictees in a case involving illegal construction work at Zavala hill in Budva in 2007 and 2008.

Rajko Kuljaca, former mayor of the coastal resort, and Dragan Marovic, his deputy, were found guilty of abuse of office to the benefit a private company, Zavala Invest, and to the detriment of the municipal budget, of more than 800,000 euros.

VIENNA -- The OSCE representative on media freedom welcomed the readiness of the media community in Montenegro to launch a process to improve media self-regulation.

Dunja Mijatović also welcomed their readiness to start the process of confidence-building between media actors.

Two Held in Montenegro For Attacking Journalist

Montenegrin police said they had detained two men on Thursday suspected of being involved in the attack on Tufik Softic, a journalist from the opposition daily newspaper Vijesti.  

“Vladimir Labudovic and Ivan Asanovic were arrested in the town of Budva for the [suspected] criminal offence of attempted murder,” the police stated on Thursday.
