Turks living abroad begin to cast ballots

The voting process to decide the next Turkish president and the parliamentary seats began for around 3.4 million Turks living abroad on April 27.

Turkish citizens can cast their votes without needing to book an appointment until May 9 at designated election bureaus and May 14 at border gates on 156 points across 73 countries, the Supreme Election Council (YSK) said.

French-speaking Belgians pick Greece for spring break

Greece is among the travel destinations of choice for French-speaking Belgians' spring break, according to a report from the RTL network.

"Spain, Greece, Morocco or Tunisia. These are the top spring break destinations," reported RTL, with Your Travel head Hedy Hafsia talking about a change in the destinations chosen by Belgium's French-speaking community.

Every 10th Resident of France is an Immigrant

A tenth of people who lived in France in 2021 were born abroad, the national statistics agency INSEE said in its first survey on immigration in a decade, AFP reported.

Almost seven million people, or 10.3 percent of all people in France this year, are immigrants, meaning "born as a foreigner in a foreign country," it said.

Ballot boxes to be set up in 15 more countries

The Supreme Election Board (YSK) has announced that ballot boxes will be established in 15 more countries in the elections to be held on May 14, YSK President Ahmet Yener has announced.

YSK decided to set up ballot boxes in 21 overseas representations in 15 countries, in which Turkish citizens did not cast vote in previous polls.

Three Bulgarians, including a Pregnant Woman and a Military Man, caught Transporting Migrants in Plovdiv

Three people, including a 7-month pregnant woman and a military man, were caught while transporting four illegal migrants, reported the National Television.

They were detected in yesterday in Plovdiv region.

Cold water swimmers converge on Bled

Some 1,000 swimmers from all over the world have gathered at the lakeside town of Bled to take part in the 13th Winter Swimming World Championships this week. The oldest among them is about to turn 88.

The participants come from 31 countries, most of them from Finland, the UK, Germany and Denmark, but there are also swimmers from Argentina, Mongolia and Morocco.
