Nepal Bans TikTok to Preserve Social Harmony
Nepal has banned the Chinese app TikTok because it considers its content harmful to social harmony, the BBC reported.
The decision comes days after the introduction of a new rule requiring companies that own social networks to open their liaison offices in the country.
TikTok has about a billion monthly users, but is banned in several countries, including India.

Thousands of villagers in the mountains of northwestern Nepal slept outdoors Saturday night in the bitter cold after an earthquake killed at least 157 people and damaged or destroyed most homes.
Most of the houses in villages in Jajarkot district either collapsed or were severely damaged by the sudden earthquake Friday night, while the few concrete houses in towns were also damaged.
Quake shakes northwest Nepal, killing, injuring dozens
Helicopters and ground troops rushed to help people hurt in a strong earthquake that shook northwestern Nepal districts just before midnight Friday, killing at least 128 people and injuring dozens dozens more, officials said Saturday.
Authorities said the death toll was expected to rise, noting that communications were cut off with many places.
Nearly 70 People Died after Earthquake in Nepal
At least 69 people have been killed and dozens injured in an earthquake in western Nepal. The local seismological center reported that the magnitude of the quake was 6.4 on the Richter scale, but other seismological services put it between 5.4 and 5.6, with the epicenter at a depth of 18 kilometers.
