The death toll from a storm that battered the Philippines has jumped to 98, the national disaster agency said Monday, with little hope of finding survivors in the worst-hit areas.

Just over half of the fatalities were from a series of flash floods and landslides unleashed by Tropical Storm Nalgae, which destroyed villages on the southern island of Mindanao on Friday.

Severe Tropical Storm Nalgae slammed into the Philippines on Oct. 29, after unleashing flash floods and landslides that left at least 45 people dead according to a sharply revised official tally.

Monthly salaries of babysitters have skyrocketed by 60 percent, ranging between 10,000 and 80,000 Turkish liras ($550 and $4,400) due to increasing demand after the COVID-19 pandemic while parents have complained about these excessive prices, as per local media.

The Joint Coordination Center (JJC) established in Istanbul to oversee Ukrainian grain exports has allowed 122 ships to move from and to Ukraine for grain shipment since Aug. 1.

Two more ships have left Ukrainian ports under the Istanbul grain export deal, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said on Aug. 22.

"The shipment of grain at Ukrainian ports continues as planned under the control of the Joint Coordination Center," the ministry said in its statement.
