National Assembly codifies same-sex marriage, adoption
Ljubljana – The National Assembly signed same-sex marriage and adoptions into law by passing changes to the family code by 48 votes in favour and 29 against on Tuesday, capping decades of efforts by LGBT+ groups and activists to end discrimination and be recognised as equal members of society.

Istanbul ranks first in Europe as its tourism rebounds
Recording a 2 percent increase in flight arrivals compared to the pre-pandemic period, Istanbul has been the best performing city in Europe this summer, according to the data of travel data analysis company ForwardKeys.
It was followed by Athens, 7 percent down, Reykjavik and Porto, both 8 percent down, and Malaga down 13 percent.

European Gas Storages are more than 80% Full, Bulgaria is with the Fewest Reserves
Bulgaria is among the five European countries with the lowest filling levels of the underground gas storage facilities (UGS) - with a filling level of 61.74%, together with Latvia (49.7%), Hungary (62.52%), Austria (66 .86%) and Romania (73.5%). This is according to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).
Bulgarians Leave the Family Home at the Oldest Age - Top 5 in EU
Bulgaria is one of the countries in the EU where young people leave the family nest at the oldest age (30.3 years). This is indicated by current Eurostat data. Bulgaria also has one of the biggest differences between the sexes after Romania (a difference of 3.5 years), with men leaving their parents at 32.0 years and women at 28.5 years.
Skeleton of huge dinosaur unearthed in Portugal
Paleontologists in Portugal have unearthed the fossilized skeleton of what could be the largest dinosaur ever found in Europe.
The remains are thought to be those of a sauropod, a herbivorous dinosaur 12 meters (39 feet) tall and 25 meters long that roamed the Earth around 150 million years ago.

Turkish FM corrects Brit presenter’s ‘Turkey’ with ‘Türkiye’
During an annual international conference held in the Slovenian city of Bled, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu corrected the mistake of the panel's presenter who said "Turkey" instead of "Türkiye" while introducing him.
Top Turkish diplomat attended the 17th Bled Strategic Forum on Aug. 29 as a speaker at a panel called "How many Europes exist inside Europe?"

Türkiye’s Can wins second European 10,000m title
Kenyan-born Turkish athlete Yasemin Can won her second European 10,000m title in Munich on Aug. 15 night as a trio of world-class heavyweights guaranteed their spots in respective finals.
Fresh from sealing the Commonwealth title, Britain's Eilish McColgan forced the pace in the 25-lap race, but Can hit the front with just under 3 kilometers to go.
