With over 87 percent of the vote, according to data from the Central Election Commission, Putin's triumph ensures his presidency until at least 2030, marking a significant milestone in Russian politics.

Bank of Cyprus to freeze assets of those sanctioned

Cypriot individuals and entities included in British and American sanctions lists will see their assets in the Cypriot banking system frozen and will not be able to carry out any banking transactions in Cyprus, Marios Skandalis, chief compliance officer at the Bank of Cyprus, the island's largest lender, has said.

According to a statement issued by the president's office, Chepurin said that the visit is "of the utmost importance for relations between Serbia and Russia," and that it will contribute to "further strengthening the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries."

Serbia could come under pressure from EU on foreign policy

The EU will try to, through accession talks chapter 31, "force Serbia to change its attitude towards Russia - but Belgrade could still remain close to Russia."
