Jankovic advances to second round in Tianjin

TIANJIN - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic is through to the second round at the WTA tournament in Tianjin, after defeating Russia's Alla Kudrjavceva 6-2 0-6, 6-0 in the first round on Tuesday.

Top seed Jankovic will next face Zheng Saisai of China, who beat Hungary's Timea Babos 7-5, 6-4.

The prize money for the Tianjin open is USD 250,000.

Constitutional Court to deliberate on law on notaries

VRNJACKA BANJA, - Due to the situation in the judiciary, the Serbian Constitutional Court has decided to deliberate by urgent procedure on initiatives to assess the constitutionality of laws regulating the competences of public notaries, over which lawyers across Serbia have been on strike for nearly a month.

Antic, Novak make arrangements for safe gas supply to Serbia

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy Aleksandar Antic and Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak agreed in Moscow on Monday that the Russian side should ensure the necessary quantities of gas as previously arranged to ensure stable gas supply for Serbia during the heating season.
