Four UNICEF Officers Murdered in Somalia

Four UNICEF employees have been murdered during an attack in Somalia, as reported by the organization's local headquarters.

Their car has been attacked in the region of Garowe. Information on the incident is still incomplete, but accoridng to preliminary information, four other UNICEF emplopyees have been hurt and are in severe condition.

Bomb Targets UN Officials in Somalia, Kills Seven People

A bomb attack on a United Nations (UN) vehicle left seven people dead in the Puntland region of Somalia.

According to an eyewitness, the bomb was attached to a UN bus, while initial reports spoke of a suicide attack, the BBC reports.

It is believed that the victims were Kenyan and Somali citizens working for the mission of the UN.

The presidents of Turkey and the U.S. will open the Turkish-American Culture and Civilization Center in Maryland, Turkey?s foreign minister said April 19.    

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu, who was on a three-day visit to Washington, visited the center that also has a medium-sized mosque, and lunched with representatives from the American Muslim community.

Nine Killed as Al-Shabaab Militants Storm Ministry Building in Somalia

At least nine people were killed when suspected gunmen from Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab stormed the building of Somalia's Higher Education Ministry on Tuesday, triggering a shootout with security forces.

A spokesman for Al-Shabaab, which is linked to al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack in the centre of Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, the CNN reported.
