European roaming charges to end in June as EU inks deal

European travelers will no longer have to pay roaming charges for using their mobile phones within the EU after the bloc reached a deal on Feb. 1 that will take effect in June.

The hard-won accord is the key element towards delivering the long-delayed "free roaming" promise first made by Brussels with great fanfare in early 2015.

ESM head Regling: Greece is a special case

Klaus Regling, the managing director of the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) said Greece was a “special case” during a speech before the European Parliament, Wednesday. The ESM chief stressed Greece was in the middle of its 3rd fiscal adjustment program, contrasting its progress with the other countries that collaborated with the ESM which had successfully completed their programs.

Tourists love Greek hotels, survey shows

Greek hotels hold top spot in the general satisfaction index among tourists, according to data by ReviewPro guest intelligence. The findings of ReviewPro, a company dedicated to collecting information about the hospitality industry, showed that 85.4% of guests voted for Greek hotels, with Cyprus coming in second with an 83.3% approval rate.

Greece unemployment “champion”, Eurostat data shows

The Greek unemployment rate is the highest among the19 Eurozone countries, according to official data released by Eurostat Tuesday. The figures revealed that the jobless rate in Greece stood at 23%, compared to the EC19 average of 9.6. The data showed that Greece also had the highest number of unemplotyed youth with 44.2%, followed by Spain (42.9%) and Italy (40.1%).

US LNG exports shift to Europe from Asia

US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exporters have shifted their focus to Southern Europe from Asia as cold weather and problems with Algerian gas supply have driven Europe's gas prices higher.

Gas prices in Europe are at their highest premiums to US gas prices for three years.

Several cargoes have already made their way to Europe, and analysts expect more to come.

Russian Hacker Arrested in Spain

A computer expert considered to be one of the most important hackers in Russia has been detained in Spain.

The 32-year old Stanislav Lisov is wanted in the USA for financial fraud amounting to EUR 5 M, read the announcement of the Spanish Civil Guard.

Spanish authorities stated that the hacker was arrested a week ago at the airport in Barcelona.
