Over 2.7 million tourists visit Istanbul
More than 2.7 million foreign tourists visited Istanbul in the first six months of 2021, the provincial directorate of culture and tourism has said.

In June alone, the number of foreign arrivals amounted to 685,000 people and this was the highest figure in the past 16 months.

Professor’s books serve young archaeologists
The books of German archaeologist Professor Manfred Osman Korfmann, who headed excavations in the ancient city of Troy between 1988 and 2005, were donated by his family after his death to the Çanakkale-Tübingen Troia Foundation's library. Now, the books light the way for future archaeologists.

UN says 34 countries cannot supply food for their people
A new United Nations report says 34 countries, nearly 80 percent of them in Africa, do not have enough food for their people because of conflicts, drought and flooding.
The figure has grown from 33 last December, after the addition of Swaziland, which was placed under the countries with severe localized food insecurity.
