NEW YORK - Serbia's top-ranked tennis player Novak Djokovic is through to the US Open quarter-finals after beating Croatian Borna Gojo 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.
Djokovic, who won after 146 minutes of play, has reached his 13th career US Open quarter-final and will next face American Taylor Fritz, who defeated Switzerland's Dominic Stricker 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

British climber's remains found in Swiss Alps, 52 years on
The remains of a climber discovered in the Swiss Alps last year have been identified as a British mountaineer who went missing 52 years ago, local police said on Aug. 31.
It is the latest in a series of discoveries of remains of long-missing climbers revealed as the Alp's glaciers melt and recede because of global warming.

Picasso's youngest son dies aged 76
Claude Ruiz Picasso, the younger son of Spanish artist Pablo Picasso, has died in Switzerland aged 76, his lawyer told AFP on Aug. 24.
He did not give the cause of death.
Ruiz Picasso managed the Picasso estate from 1989 to July 2023, when he handed over responsibility to his sister, Paloma.
Picasso had four children.
