Citizens in Turkey's Cizre given access to markets, internet

A curfew which was implemented late Sept. 4 in the Cizre district of southeastern Turkey's ??rnak province would be removed as of 7:00 a.m. on Sept. 12, ??rnak Governor's office said on Sept. 11 soon after three markets and one bakery were permitted to open with telephone and internet lines also opened to access. 

First video released of abducted Turkish workers in Baghdad

A Shiite militia group that abducted 18 Turkish workers on Sept. 2 has released a video of them for the first time, reading the names of the abducted workers and a list of the group's demands, Al Jazeera Türk has reported.

The group calling itself the "Death Squads," listed its conditions to release the workers, addressing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an. 

Turkish actress, directors receive awards in Milan

Turkish actress Damla Sönmez, who won the Best Actress Award at the Milan International Film Festival for her role in the film "Deniz Seviyesi" (Across the Sea), received her award at a ceremony held in Milan on Sept. 9. 

The festival was organized earlier this year in the Italian city between May 7 and 17. 

Turkey hits 64 PKK targets in new Iraq air strikes: report

Turkish warplanes struck 64 outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) targets in overnight raids on northern Iraq, dropping 80 bombs, according to reports on Sept. 11. 

At least 60 PKK militants were killed in the strikes, carried out by 21 Turkish F-16 and F-4 warplanes, the state-run Anadolu Agency reported, quoting security sources. 

NGO working to build textile factory for Roma employees in Turkey

Roma People Confederation of Turkey head Ahmet Çokya?ar said the organization is working to build a textile factory to employ Roma people in the northwestern province of Kocaeli in cooperation with authorities. 

Çokya?ar said a project aiming to remove obstacles before the employment of Roma people in Kocaeli was about to be finalized at a meeting in Kocaeli.
