US will continue to be a strong ally of Turkey: US Secretary of Defense
The U.S. will continue to support democracy in Turkey, U.S. Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter said on Oct. 21 during his visit to sections of the Turkish Parliament damaged in attacks during the failed July 15 military coup attempt.
US defense chief to visit Turkey over consensus for Mosul offensive
U.S. Secretary of Defense Ash Carter is due to visit Turkey on Oct. 21, after Ankara and Washington agreed on Turkey's participation in coalition forces' aerial campaign in the Mosul offensive against the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL).
Carter will travel to Ankara as part of a weeklong Middle East and Europe trip, according to the Pentagon.
Serbia to borrow $1 billion from the United Arab Emirates
BELGRADE - The Serbian government intends to ask the Fund for the development of Abu Dhabi for a loan of about a 1 billion US dollars for budget support, with an interest rate of 2.25 percent per year.
The maturity period of the loan is 10 years, including a grace period of five years, while the repayment period is five years.
Vucic confirms Serbia's participation in Expo 2020
BELGRADE - Serbian PM Aleksandar Vucic on Wednesday received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Juma Rashid Al Dhaheri, to whom he handed a letter confirming Serbia's participation in Expo 2020 as an opportunity for the country to best present itself in the Middle Eastern region.

Bulgaria, UAE EconMins Launch Business Forum in Sofia
A delegation of the United Arab Emirates has been received by Bulgarian Economy Minister Bozhidar Lukarski in Sofia on Wednesday, the Economy Ministry has said.
Lukarski and his counterpart Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori have also kicked off a Bulgarian-Emirati business forum in the capital.
Missiles fired from Yemen fall short of US warship, says US navy
Two missiles fired from rebel-held territory in Yemen fell short of a U.S. warship patrolling the Red Sea off the coast of the war-torn country, the U.S. navy said Oct. 10.
The USS Mason "detected two inbound missiles" within an hour of each other from around 7:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. GMT) on Oct. 9, said U.S. Naval Forces Central Command spokeswoman Paula Dunn, according to AFP.

Under the document adopted Tuesday, the countries will work to promote the role of small and medium enterprises in economic relations.
