US, Europe criticize Turkey over Cumhuriyet raids, detentions
The detention of executives and columnists from the critical daily Cumhuriyet newspaper has been criticized by officials from the United States and Europe, with the U.S. State Department saying it supports Turkey's efforts to locate those responsible for the attempted coup, but was deeply concerned by the continuing pressure on the news media.

Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic has made a gaffe during an interview with RTL Danas, as she spoke about the U.S. presidential elections.
"Americans will decide who our next president will be - I mean, their next president," she said, thus "quickly correcting herself, and smiling faintly because of her verbal gaffe," Croatian website index.hr has reported.

US ambassador to Serbia Kyle Randolph Scott stated on Monday that relations between Belgrade and Washington are positive and getting better - and Serbia should not feel it has to choose between Moscow and Washington.

Bulgaria is negotiating the opening of an automotive assembly plant on its soil, the investment promotion agency's head has said.
"We are in talks with a major German company [to convince it] to begin assembling cars in Bulgaria," Stamen Yanev, chair of InvestBulgaria Agency, has told daily 24 Chasa in an interview.
