Defense exports rise in 2016: Statistics
Turkish defense exports rose 30 percent in the first two months of the year compared to the same period last year, according to statistics released by the Turkish Exporters' Assembly on March 11.
The country's defense exports for January and February were valued at over $255.9 million, a 30 percent increase compared with $196.4 million in the same period last year.

A street vendor has sparked outrage in Turkey after security footage emerged showing him picking up and throwing to the ground a Syrian toddler in a historic bazaar in the western city of ?zmir.
The video shows the man hurling the toddler to the ground, causing his head to smash against the ground.

Soldier succumbs to wounds after PKK attack in southeastern Turkey
A Turkish soldier succumbed to his wounds on March 10 after sustaining injuries in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in southeastern Diyarbak?r's Sur district last month.
The soldier was wounded in an armed attack by PKK militants during an anti-terror operation in Sur on Feb. 18. He was being treated at the Gülhane Military Academy (GATA) in Ankara when he died.
