Turkey has closed its airspace to Russian civilian and military aircraft that carry troops to Syria, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on April 23.

Turkey and Russia have "agreed to suspend the use of the airspace for Russian military aircraft and even civilian aircraft carrying soldiers to Syria," Çavuşoğlu told reporters aboard his flight to Uruguay.

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu will start a seven-day South America tour that includes six states.

A statement issued by the Foreign Ministry informed that Çavuşoğlu will visit Uruguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama and Venezuela between April 23 and 29.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Monday that it had revoked its "Do Not Travel" recommendation because of COVID-19 for about 90 international destinations, including Bulgaria.

Bulgaria has found a place in the ranking of billionaires (in US dollars) of Forbes magazine with the brothers Kiril and Georgi Domuschievi.

In an article on the distribution of the richest in the world, Forbes points out that four countries have their representatives in the club of billionaires for the first time: Bulgaria, Barbados, Estonia and Uruguay.

As of Thursday, February 17, the list of countries by color zones is updated, according to which the order of entry into Bulgaria is determined.

The red zone will include France, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Cyprus, the Maldives, Armenia, Belarus, Russia, Japan and others.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) will keep financial sectors of seven countries, including Turkey, under spotlight this year, the global crisis lender said in a blog post on Feb. 4.

Fatih Aydın, one of the founders of Çiftlik Bank (Farm Bank), an alleged Ponzi scheme that collected over 1.1 billion Turkish Liras (around $110 million) from more than 132,000 people, has been extradited to Turkey from Uruguay.

Turkey and Uruguay signed a customs cooperation agreement, Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Muş announced on Aug. 23.

Muş met with Uruguayan Foreign Minister Francisco Bustillo in the capital Ankara and discussed bilateral trade ties.

British Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace has denied reports by the British media that there are plans of establishing "processing hubs" hubs in Turkey for Afghans fleeing from the Taliban, while Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu criticized the Turkish opposition for giving credit to speculation and attacking the government.

The National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) on Thursday adopted Decision No 52 on updating the list of countries/territories with high epidemiological risk, with Greece, Ireland, Monaco entering the red zone, and France, Belgium, Israel, the USA, Iceland and Honduras entering the yellow zone.
