Renowned Turkish professor slams presidential system push
World-renowned Turkish historian Prof. ?lber Ortayl? slammed late on April 4 a recent push by President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an to shift Turkey's government from a parliamentary system to a presidential one.
"What presidency?" he asked, while commenting on the issue during an interview on broadcaster CNN Türk. "Is it Uruguay here?" he said. "There will be thousands of problems."

A Turkish defense firm has provided Uruguay with materials to protect its borders, the company announced late Jan. 4.
Military electronics company Aselsan said the firm had delivered mobile border security systems to protect Uruguay?s land and sea borders.
In 2013, Aselsan won a $3.7 million contract to supply the mobile surveillance systems of the Uruguayan Army.
