US to work with Taiwan, Vietnam against illegal fishing
The United States has said it will step up cooperation with Vietnam and Taiwan among others to combat illegal fishing, a problem that environmentalists and Western nations increasingly attribute to China.
U.S. President Joe Biden signed a memorandum that aimed to step up coordination and enforcement within the US government against illegal fishing and the use of forced labor.

Ljubljana – Slovenia ranks seventh out of 180 countries in the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), which is calculated by Yale University to assess the state of sustainable environmental care.
Denmark tops the rankings with a score of 77.9, followed by the UK with 77.7 and Finland with 76.5. Malta scored 75.2 points, Sweden 72.7 and Luxembourg 72.3.

Endangered giant turtles released on Turtle Day
Hundreds of critically endangered baby giant turtles were released into Cambodia's Mekong River to mark World Turtle Day on May 23.
Cantor's giant softshell turtles have all but vanished across their former territory in Vietnam and Thailand thanks to poaching and illegal trade, and were only rediscovered in the Southeast Asian country in 2007.

German sportswear heavyweight Adidas on Friday reported a drop in its profits in the first quarter, as widespread coronavirus lockdowns hurt business in key market China.

Turkish sailor rescued after 2 days lost at sea
A Turkish captain has been rescued more than 60 hours after he fell overboard from a ship off the coast of Bali.
Quorn, the Liberia-flagged 290-meter bulk carrier operated by London-based Zodiac Maritime, set sail on April 29 from Australia, en route to Vietnam. On May 2, the crew of the ship discovered that 40-year-old captain Erkan Seçkal was missing.
