Biopic looks at the life of great bard Ne?et Erta?
As bizarre as it might sound, the name that stuck with the late Ne?et Erta?, one of Turkey's greatest musicians, was the "Plectrum of the Steppe." As the story goes, a group of Erta? fans bought a book by legendary Turkish writer Ya?ar Kemal and sent the book to Erta?, who was serving time in a prison in Yugoslavia, as a gesture of their support.

Reflections on the Karadzic verdict
On March 25, I watched the verdict of the United Nations tribunal on Radovan Karadzic, the leader of Bosnian Serbian forces in during the 1992-1995 war. The man was found guilty of 10 major crimes, including "genocide" and crimes against humanity.

Current borders in the Middle East are far from perfect. They were drawn mostly as "lines in the sand" through two world wars. Starting from the collapse of the Ottoman Empire in 1918 until the establishment of Israel in 1948, the borders in the region were also drawn through zones of influences over oil and gas fields.
