Serbia celebrates Statehood Day
On this day in 1804, the Serbs, led by Djordje "Karadjordje" Petrovic, decided to start the First Uprising against occupying Ottoman Turks.
On the same day in 1835, the first constitution of the modern Serbian state was adopted in the town of Kragujevac.
President Aleksandar Vucic is this Friday presenting state decorations to deserving individuals and institutions.

Djuric: Statehood Day marked in Kosovo-Metohija
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA - Marko Djuric, director of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo-Metohija, said on Sunday that the current and all future governments of Serbia will stand by its people in the southern province and Serbian Statehood Day will be marked in Kosovo-Metohija.

Nikolic unveils memorial to Serbian scout
BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic unveiled a memorial to Serbian scout Dragutin Matic also known as Hawk Eye on the occasion of Serbian Statehood Day on Sunday.
Nikolic unveiled the memorial in the House of the Serbian Army in central Belgrade with full state and military honors.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Mt. Avala on the occasion of February 15, Serbian Statehood Day.
Nikolic laid the wreath while the Serbian anthem was playing and singed the memorial book.
