Kosovo Police Arrest Serb for ‘Inciting Hatred’ After Battle Commemoration
Kosovo police said they arrested Serbian citizen Nikola Nedeljkovic from Belgrade for "inciting hatred and discord" after a memorial service on Tuesday dedicated to the fighters of 1389 Battle of Kosovo.
The service was held at the Gazimestan monument near Kosovo's capital, Pristina. It coincides with the Serbian Orthodox religious holiday of Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day).

Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day) is celebrated on June 28. An important religious feast and date for the Serbs, it, among other historical events, marks the day in 1389 when the Battle of Kosovo was fought between the Serbian Kingdom and the invading Ottoman Turks.

Monument to Gavrilo Princip unveiled in Belgrade
A monument to Gavrilo Princip was unveiled on Sunday in Belgrade in the presence of Serbian and RS presidents Tomislav Nikolic and Milorad Dodik.
Princip was a member of the Young Bosnia (Mlada Bosna) movement in the early 20th century, who on Vidovdan (St. Vitus Day, June 28) 1914 in Sarajevo assassinated Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand.

Kosovo Heroes from battle 626 years ago commemorated
Several thousand people on Sunday, St. Vitus Day (Vidovdan), attended a memorial service at Gazimestan, near Pristina.
In this place in 1389, 626 years ago, the Serbian army led by Prince Lazar confronted the invading Ottoman Turks. Those fallen in the battle that the Serbian state lost are referred to as Kosovo Heroes, and the Gazimestan monument is their memorial.

“They [police officers] pushed me against the wall, which is why I have bruises on my arms and a hematoma under my eye,” Andrija Igic told BIRN on Monday.
Igic said that he was arrested on Friday because of “an alleged traffic violation and preventing an officer from performing his duties”.

ANDRIĆGRAD -- Milorad Dodik says the Serb people in Bosnia will continue fighting for autonomy, hoping that the political process will eventually result in the independence.
He made the remarks on Saturday, St. Vitus Day (Vidovdan), during the opening of the cultural and historical complex dubbed Andrićgrad.

KRUSEVAC - The marking of Vidovdan or St Vitus' Day, a religious and national holiday, began on Saturday morning in Krusevac, where Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic laid a wreath at the Memorial to Kosovo Heroes.
