The Eurovision finals are upon us this year. Vienna will host the 27 countries that made it to the finals. Greece and Cyprus will be fighting against all odds, since Sweden and Italy are favorites to win, with Russia coming in to maybe steal the spotlight.

Romania, the 20th to take to the stage in Eurovision Final

AGERPRES special correspondent Oana Ghita reports: Voltaj, the pop-rock band that represents Romania at the Eurovision contest, will be the 20th to perform in Saturday's Grand Final, following the organizers' decision on the order of the competing performances in the 2015 edition of the European Song Contest.

Vucic to travel to U.S., Albania, host Merkel in Belgrade

Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will in the coming period travel to the United States and Albania and host German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Belgrade.

Speaking on Thursday, Vucic said that he finds the tasks to be carried out in Serbia to be "more important."

Maria-Elena Kyriakou drew “One Last Breath” with her throaty voice and was sent to the 60th Eurovision Song Contest 2015 finals in Vienna, Austria.

She stole the show with her dynamic presence, beauty and of course – voice – getting one of the ten coveted tickets to the Saturday finals. Both the audience and critics said “Yes” to another breath for Greece.

 

Albania Charges UEFA With Double Standards

The Albanian football federation, FSHF, has accused UEFA of double standards after its Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body awarded Russia three points after its Euro 2016 qualifier with Montenegro had to be abandoned owing to fan violence in Podgorica.  

Serbia drops four positions to No. 44 in FIFA world rankings

ZURICH - The Serbian national football team has dropped four positions to number 44 in the latest FIFA world rankings.

With 664 points, Serbia is ahead of Nigeria (652), Israel (649) and Slovenia (648), and behind Guinea (678), Northern Ireland (672) and Hungary (665).

Serbia loses to Portugal in Lisbon

LISBON - Serbia lost to Portugal 2-1 in Lisbon on Sunday in a match of Group I of the qualifications for the UEFA European championship.

Carvalho scored the first goal 11 minutes into the match, Matic equalised in the 61st minute and Coentrao scored the decider in the 63rd.

Serbia now has a very slim chance of qualifying for the European championship in France next year.

Violent Football Fans Wreck Montenegro-Russia Qualifier

UEFA is expected to start disciplinary proceedings against Montenegro after Friday's Euro 2016 qualifier with Russia was abandoned amid battles on the pitch.

The Group G game in Podgorica was hit by trouble from the start after Russia's goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, was struck on the head by a flare thrown from the stands and had to be taken to hospital.

Serbia drops to No. 40 in FIFA world rankings

GENEVE - The Serbian national football team has dropped by one position to 40th in the latest FIFA world rankings.

With 709 points, Serbia is ahead of Nigeria (701), Iran (692) and Sweden (663), and behind Scotland (727), Cape Verde (762) and Wales (763).

Serbia moves down one spot in latest FIFA world rankings

ZURICH - The Serbian men's national football team has moved down one spot in the latest FIFA world rankings and now takes the 39th position.

Serbia now has 713 points, which places it above Poland (709), Nigeria (664) and Sweden (654), and bellow Cape Verde (756), Island (743) and Scotland (748).

Sports Court to Hear Albania-Serbia Dispute

"The football associations of Albania and Serbia seek to annul the UEFA decisions or subsidiarily to reduce the sanctions that were imposed," the Court said.

"Two arbitration procedures have been opened and are being conducted in accordance with the Code of Sports-related Arbitration," it added

Greek Olympian blamed for Albanian doping

A row has broken out between the national weightlifting federations of Greece and Albania following claims over the weekend that the former Greek Olympian and current national squad coach, Leonidas Sabanis, played a role in the doping of three Albanian athletes at last month’s World Championship in Kazakhstan.

Kosovo Wins Right to Compete in Olympics

Athletes from Kosovo are celebrating the IOC decision to grant Kosovo full membership, which means they will be fielding their own national team for the Brazil Olympics.

The decision was reached at the 127th session of the IOC held in Monaco and follows an earlier decision in October by the IOC to grant Kosovo provisional recognition.
