Memorandum on Serbian-Albanian Chamber of Commerce signed

NIS - A memorandum on the establishment of the Serbian-Albanian Chamber of Commerce was signed in Nis Friday at a ceremony attended by PMs Aleksandar Vucic and Edi Rama.

The memorandum was signed by the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia Marko Cadez and the President of the Business Albania Association Luan Bregasi.

Vucic urges Albanian businesspeople to invest in Serbia

BELGRADE - Businesses from Serbia and Albania met on October 14 in an effort to boost economic ties and stabilize the Balkans region still troubled by tensions from the 1990s war.

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama inaugurated the gathering in Serbia's southern city of Nis, some 200 kilometers south of Belgrade.

Former Albanian prime minister Sali Berisha has blamed the unmaking of a continental shelf pact between Albania and Greece five years ago on outside intervention.

Rama: Serbia must recognize Kosovo’s independence

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama again urged Serbia to recognize Kosovo as soon as possible and said that he supportes dialogue between Belgrade and Priština.

Rama also said that Kosovo is an issue "on which we completely disagree, because my position is that the sooner Serbia recognizes Kosovo, the better it will be for everyone".

Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is visiting Serbia to participate in business and security forums from October 13-14, will also present the Serbian translation of his book, "Sacrifice" on Thursday, in a Belgrade hotel.

Greek police stop 18 Syrian refugees trying to enter Albania

Police in northern Greece say they have arrested two Greek women suspected of trying to smuggle a group of Syrian refugees over the rugged border with Albania.

The suspects were discovered early Tuesday, driving two cars carrying a total of 18 Syrians, including six children, to the border in the northern Kastoria region.
