16 days if Eurobasket kicked off on Saturday with six days of group play at several European locations before the action is transferred to Lille, France.
Group play will be split between Berlin (Germany), Zagreb (Croatia), Riga (Latvia) and Montpellier (France).

Bosnia Throws Hero's Welcome for Basketball Winners

Sarajevo's main Marshal Tito street was flooded with people on Monday night who put on a hero's welcome for the young basketball team that came back after winning the European Championship for the under-16s.  

After overpowering several favourites, such as Germany and Spain, the Bosnian team on Sunday defeated the host of the championship, Lithuania, scoring 85:83.

Grigor Dimitrov to Lead Bulgaria Against Luxembourg at Davis Cup

Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov will join the Bulgarian team for the Davis Cup matches against Luxembourg.

The matches, which are from the second round of Group II Europe/Africa, will take place in Luxembourg between July 17 and 19.

Bulgarian Athlete Becomes New Balkan Cycling Champion

Bulgarian athlete has won a first prize in the Balkan Cycling Championship for the first time in a number of years now.

The 27 year old Nikolay Mihaylov managed to secure the gold medal after winning in the individual race in Bijeljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina) on a 23,8 kilometer route, featuring 7 dangerous turns on track.

Golden Belt karate tournament held in Cacak

CACAK - Montenegrin karate fighter Mijat Vojvodic is the winner of the 44th Golden Belt tournament, held last weekend in Cacak, central Serbia.

Serbia's Stefan Semlal finished second, with Jose Manuel Lopez of Spain and Mehman Rzaev of Russia both in third.

Bulgaria Beats Latvia, Proceeds to Second Round of Davis Cup

Bulgaria's tennis team defeated Latvia with 4:1 and proceeded to the second round of Group II Europe/Africa of the Davis Cup.

The Bulgarians started with a defeat on Friday after Aleksandar Lazov lost to Martins Podzus with 3:6, 5:7, 5:7.

Serbia Chooses Bojana Stamenov for Eurovision

The jury and the audience of 'Countdown To Vienna', Serbia's televised national final to choose the country's representative at Eurovision, voted on Sunday evening for Stamenov to go to Austria to compete in May.

Stamenov, a popular local soul, funk and jazz singer, also reached the final of the Serbian televised competition 'I Got Talent' in 2012.

A report on average wages in former Yugoslavia countries and Albania, compiled by Anadolu news agency, says Slovenes earn most in the region per month, with average wages of 1,002 euro.

This comes as no surprise, as the country has been a member of the EU for almost 10 years and was the wealthiest republic in Yugoslavia.
