GERB to Receive Mandate to Form Bulgaria's Next Gov't

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is to give GERB leader Boyko Borisov the government mandate on Wednesday.

The move follows a few days of consultations with political parties at Bulgaria's Presidency.

Plevneliev has to hold the last round of talks, attended by the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), prior to meeting Borisov.

Caretaker PM Georgi Bliznashki will table a draft proposal for the an update of Bulgaria's state budget on Tuesday.

According to Bilznashki this must be priority number one on the agenda of the Mps.

According to the draft, the budget deficit will reach 4% of the country's GDP, or by more than BGN 1 B above the initially provided.

Bulgarian Lawmaker 'Bat Sali' Complains of 'Discrimination'

The controversial DPS lawmaker Aleksandar Metodiev, dubbed "Bat Sali", has said protesters demanding his resignation are discriminating against him.

Metodiev was sworn in on Monday as a lawmaker from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) when Parliament held its inaugural session, amid protests demanding he should not assume office.

Almost 90% of the people with disabilities in Bulgaria are unemployed said the head of the Agency for disabled people Mincho Koralski at a round table on integration in Sofia.

According to Koralski, quoted by News.bg, the main reason for this was within the society, which was still not tolerant to the different people, no matter what their difference is.

Bulgaria Sets 2015 Poverty Line At BGN 286

Bulgaria's 2015 poverty line will be set at BGN 286 per month, said the government press office.

It is by 14% higher and is to be discussed at today's government meeting.

The poverty line is calculated on data of the National Statistics Institute on household budgets, prices and inflation and aims at covering a set of basic living needs.
