Grigor Dimitrov to Face Nadal Late on Saturday Evening

Bulgaria's most successful tennis player so far – Grigor Dimitrov – will face Rafael Nadal in the Rome Masters Semifinal late on Saturday evening, said the organizers. 

This would be the fifth match between the two and Dimitrov hasn't one neither.

On Friday Dimitrov won against Tomi Haas, who retired after the first set due to injury. 

Bulgaria's Berbatov Signs 1-Year Contract Extension with AS Monaco

Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov has signed a one-year extension of his contract with French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.

Berbatov joined the French football club from Fulham in January under a contract expiring at the end of the season.

The win came as a sweet revenge for last week’s loss against the same opponent in Madrid, and an early birthday present for Dimitrov, who turns 23 on Friday.

Bulgaria's Tsvetana Pironkova lost in the first round of the Rome Masters against Czech Petra Cetkovska, 6:1, 1:6, 4:6.

Despite cruising through the first set and starting with a break in the second, Pironkova crumbled to an unlikely defeat against an opponent ranked 27 places below her. This was also the Bulgarian's sixth consecutive first round loss in Rome.

Berdych Defeats Dimitrov in Madrid Masters

Tomas Berdych beat Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov by 2-1 sets (3:6, 6:3, 6:2) in the third round of the Madrid Masters.

The match started ideally for Dimitrov, who grabbed the first set, showing some of his best shots, while his opponent was looking shaky.

Despite falling behind with an early break, Dimitrov recovered quickly and left no chances for the Spaniard, taking care of matters in just an hour and ten minutes.

Grigor Dimitrov Remains 14th Ahead of Madrid Masters

Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov keeps his 14th position in the ATP World Ranking.

On Monday night, Dimitrov will play his first match at this year's Madrid Masters. His opponent is the Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, ranked 63rd.

Rafael Nadal remains first in the men's rankings, followed by Novak Djokovic and Stanislas Wawrinka.
