Bulgarian Parliament to Vote on National Health Strategy

The Bulgarian parliament is to vote on Thursday on the national health strategy (2014-2020).

The strategy, which had been updated this year and approved by the government in November, identifies the priorities and strategic goals for development of the country's healthcare system.

Bulgarian Parliament Approves Constitutional Amendments at Third Reading

Bulgarian Parliament approved at third reading on Wednesday the amendments to the constitution concerning the reform of the judiciary.

The amendments were overwhelmingly approved with 189 MPs voting in favour, 39 lawmakers against, while 1 abstained.

Three Separate Protests Held in Sofia

A rally over Parliament's decision to reject part of a proposed judicial reform and two other protests were held in Bulgaria's capital Sofia on Tuesday evening.

Supporters of nationalist Ataka party also marched against the visit of Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who was in Sofia on Tuesday to meet his Bulgarian counterpart, Boyko Borisov.
