Labor inspections are underway at the Obrochishte manganese mine in northeast Bulgaria, where a 39-year-old worker died on Tuesday in a rockfall.

Bulgarian Economy Could Suffer EUR 800 M Losses Over Greek Tax Policies
Close to EUR 800 M will be the total losses for Bulgaria over the course of the year in case Greece decides to implement a 26% tax on contracts with local companies.
The calculation was made by using national statistical data, showing that the annual stock exchange between the two countries amounts to EUR 2,8 B, therefore 26% would mean EUR 800 M less for the Bulgarian economy.

Prince Kardam, the eldest son of Bulgaria's last King and former premier (2001-2005) Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, has passed away, BGNES reported.
Kardam, 52, passed away at 11:30 am on Tuesday at the Madrid university hospital of Sanchinarro from a respiratory infection after being permanently immobilised for nearly seven years.
Russia's Gazprom plans to sell stake in German gas group VNG
Gazprom said on April 6 it plans to sell its 10.52 percent stake in Germany?s natural gas supplier Verbundnetz Gas (VNG), in line with the Russian company?s strategy to pull back from operations in Europe.
Gazprom said the decision to sell the stake was made after Wintershall Holding sold its stake in VNG. Gazprom and Wintershall jointly held a blocking stake of 26.31 percent in VNG.
