Croatia Offers to Take in 550 Refugees
The Croatian government on Thursday agreed to take in 550 refugees and asylum seekers from outside Europe, acting on a decision adopted by the EU Council in July.
This aimed at the relocation of 40,000 asylum seekers currently settled in Italy and Greece around Europe and resettlement of an additional 20,000 currently outside Europe.

Croatia's centre-left governing coalition, known as the "Kukuriku coalition", is making moves to broaden its ranks ahead of the coming elections.

Croatia PM Urges NATO to Admit Montenegro
Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic underlined the importance of Montenegro's NATO membership for Croatia, at a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Zagreb on Thursday.

The President's office told BIRN that Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic had other priorities, saying that "there are major issues in Croatia, such as the economy and negative demographic trends, which must constantly be stressed.
Bulgaria's President Begins One-Day Working Visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev will pay a one-day working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 3.
Plevneliev is to meet with Mladen Ivanic, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to take part in an international conference titled "Regional Economic Development and Cooperation," according to a media statement of the President's Office.
