Croats to Rename Airport after Tudjman

Croatia's Transport and Infrastructure Minister, Sinisa Hajdas Doncic, has confirmed that Zagreb's reconstructed Pleso airport will be named after the country's first president, Franjo Tudjman.

Croatia to Take Share of EU Refugee Burden

Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic on Thursday said his country is willing to accept a share of the 40,000 refugees, mainly from Syria and Eritrea, who recently arrived in Greece and Italy, which Brussels wants distributed round the EU.

Milanovic made the offer ahead of an EU summit dominated by migration issues and the Greek crisis.

NATO Warsaw Summit Should Invite Macedonia, Montenegro to Join - Polish DefMin

NATO should invite Macedonia and Montenegro to join when it holds its next summit in Poland in July of next year, Polish Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak has said.

"It would be excellent news if the invitations could be sent from (the NATO summit in) Warsaw to Macedonia and Montenegro," Reuters quoted Siemoniak as saying at a conference in Wroclaw, Poland on Friday.

Croatian Opposition Chief Rejects TV Debate With PM

Tomislav Karamarko, head of the main opposition party, the centre-right Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, has turned down the offer of a TV debate with his main opponent, Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic.

In a statement on Tuesday, the HDZ said that Karamarko would not be responding to a call to debate with Milanovic, also head of the governing Social Democratic Party, SDP.
