Athens welcomes Christmas on Tuesday

Athens mayor Giorgos Kaminis on Tuesday will give the signal for the official illumination of the capital of Greece, inaugurating the holiday season.

The ceremony will begin at 17:30 when two sections of the Athens Municipality Wind Instrument Philharmonic Orchestra will set off from National Resistance Square (formerly Kotzias) and Monastiraki metro station.

Aussie archeologists find 3rd century BC theater on Cyprus

Australian archeologists in Cyprus found a theater dating from the 3rd century BC that had been used for spectacles more than six and a half centuries ago. The Department of Antiquities of Cyprus said that it was the oldest structure of its kind ever unearthed on the Mediterranean island. The structure was used from 300 BC through to 365 BC.

Greek celebrities get naked for a good cause

The Down Town magazine of Cyprus will soon release its edition in which 50 celebrities, Greeks and Cypriots, are photographed naked for charity campaign.

Many Greek and Cypriot actors, singers, TV presenters, models and athletes took off their clothes to support Sophia Foundation For Children and school feeding program in Cyprus.
