Merkel hopes for Greek deal soon, says reforms vital
German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Friday she hopes that Greece can get reach a deal quickly but stressed Athens must show willingness to undertake reforms.
"On the German side, we are prepared to provide all the support that is asked of us. But of course reforms must be done,» Merkel said at a campaign event ahead of state elections in Bremen next month.
Greek minister blasts FIFA, UEFA 'ultimatum'
Greek deputy sports minister Stavros Kontonis said on Wednesday he does not accept ultimatums by world and European soccer's governing bodies FIFA and UEFA.
Kontonis made the comment on Mega television in response to a fax sent earlier on Wednesday jointly by FIFA and UEFA to the Greek soccer federation.
Bundesbank: ECB cash is linked to Greek banks' health
The provision of European Central Bank emergency liquidity to Greece is ?directly correlated? to the health of its banks and will continue as long as the preconditions are met, a top policymaker from Germany?s Bundesbank said on Tuesday.
Bundesbank board member Andreas Dombret declined to say how the ECB should respond if Greece defaulted.
Varoufakis warns of Grexit contagion
Greece's Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said in an interview broadcast on Sunday that if Greece were to leave the euro zone, there would be an inevitable contagion effect.
"Anyone who toys with the idea of cutting off bits of the euro zone hoping the rest will survive is playing with fire,» he told La Sexta, a Spanish TV channel, in an interview recorded 10 days ago.
Petrounias wins gold in Europeans

Lefteris Petrounias won his first gold medal in a European Artistic Gymnastics Championship on Saturday finishing first in the rings at Montpellier in France.
Petrounias was impeccable in the execution of his routine to leave all his rivals behind and win comfortably. He went on to dedicate his medal to the Greek people.
