Envoy in Ankara urges EU to snub Seawolf ceremony
In a letter to his European Union counterparts, Greece's ambassador to Turkey, Kyriakos Loukakis, has asked them to abstain from attending the closing ceremony of the Denizkurdu 2017 (Seawolf) naval exercise.
Turkish media published excerpts of the letter, dismissing it as Greek "propaganda" to the Europeans.

Varoufakis claims Tsipras pressured him to accept creditors' demands
Former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis on Friday hit out at Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, claiming that the premier had tried to scare him into yielding to creditors' demands.
"In the summer of 2015 Alexis Tsipras told me that I should fear a new Goudi," Varoufakis told VICE magazine, referring to a military coup that took place in Greece in 1909 amid simmering social tensions.
Champion of Crete synagogue restoration dies, 85
Nicholas Hannan-Stavroulakis, the man who famously fought for the restoration in 1999 of the Etz Hayyim Synagogue in the town of Hania on the island of Crete, died Friday morning. He was 85.
Stavroulakis served as the director of the Jewish Museum in Athens and was an emblematic figure in Greece's Jewish community.
His funeral will held in Athens on Monday.
