Murder suspect arrested in Almyros, Magnesia
A 36-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in the village of Almyros in Magnesia, central Greece, in connection with the murder of a 64-year-old businessman.
The suspect worked for the victim, according to local media, which said that the body of the 64-year-old, who had died from gunshot wounds, was found by his son.

Banks eye more loan issues in 2017
After six-and-a-half years of credit contraction, Greek banks are hoping that 2017 will be the first that the amount of loans issued will expand. Sector officials estimate that if things go smoothly next year and the country is not plunged into fresh turmoil, then 2017 could see a 5-billion-euro increase in loans, with the credit expansion rate estimated at 2 percent.

Greece is bracing for a cold snap as of Wednesday with heavy snowfall expected in some parts of the country, according to the National Meteorological Service (EMY).
On Wednesday, snow is forecast for mountainous parts in Macedonia, Thrace, the northeastern Aegean islands, Thessaly, the eastern-central mainland (Sterea) and parts of the Peloponnese.
