Greece Resorts to EU Crisis Management Tools to Cope with Migrant Influx
Greece has activated the EU Civil Protection Mechanism to benefit from material support to help the country cope with the influx of refugees and asylum seekers at its borders, the European Commission said on Friday.
Greece has requested tents, generators, beds, sanitary equipment and emergency first aid kits.

Security cameras to be installed inside Athens metro trains
Under the fear of terrorist attacks, Greece’s independent privacy regulator, the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA), gave the Athens metro company STASY permission to install security cameras inside 17 new metro trains serving lines 2 (Anthoupolis-Elliniko) and 3 (Agia Marina-Doukissis Plakentias – Airport).
Dep. FM Mardas calls on Koreans to invest in Greece

Thessaloniki hosts a classic bicycle exhibition
The exhibition “Meet the classic bicycle” is being hosted at the WE venue in Thessaloniki.
Among the top attractions of the exhibition is a handmade bicycle which was made by the British company “Raleigh” and constructed during WWI and a military bicycle made by BSA and used by English paratroopers during the period of the expeditions in WWI.
Bank of Greece report: The basic precondition for economic growth is political and social consensus
Bank of Greece governor Yannis Stournaras sent an urgent message for the need of political and social consensus so as Greece to permanently exit economic crisis.
Mr. Stournaras submitted the bank’s interim report on monetary policy to Greek Parliament setting two preconditions for the return of the economy to normality and then to recovery.
Kerry: We will do everything we can to see Greece return to growth
US Secretary of State John State John Kerry said he is aware of the major challenges Greece is facing particularly on migration, during the meeting with Greek Prime Minister.
He also added that he highly appreciates the Greek efforts in the financial sector and promised that the US will do everything they can to help the country return to growth.
