Air show over Thessaloniki National Day parade makes Greeks proud (pics + vid)
Last year’s National Day parade for the occasion of October 28, 1940, was marked with an impressive air show of the military aviation. Once again F-16 Captain Sotiris Stralis managed to impress with his flying skills of the parade. So much so that President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said, “Dear Captain, your wings covered the country and our nation. Be proud of your mission. God be with you!”
Bulgaria-Greece Gas Link Gets BGN 215 M in State Guarantee
Bulgaria's government is to issue guarantees worth BGN 215 M (EUR 109 M) for the Interconnector Greece-Bulgarai (IGB) project in 2016, the cabinet's press office has said.
The decision, announced at a Wednesday cabinet meeting, has turned IGB into the single state-guaranteed investment project for which the government will secure funding by taking out more loans.
Romania Sticks to its Tough Line on Kosovo
Romania's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday told BIRN that the EU's new pact with Kosovo will not result in Romania recognising the country.
A statement to BIRN said: "The EU signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement with Kosovo does not influence Romania's position on Kosovo and does not mean its recognition as a state.

Countries along the Western Balkans migratory route have nominated national contact points, as had been agreed at the leaders' meeting in Brussels on Sunday.
At the meeting, the leaders of the eleven participating countries and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, who had convened the summit, agreed to nominate contact points within 24 hours.
Bodies of two migrants wash up on Greek islands
The bodies of two migrants were found on the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios on Oct. 26 after accidents aboard two boats bound for Europe, according to Greek police.
A 21-year-old woman drowned after falling off a boat near the island of Chios, according to accounts from 35 survivors who were travelling in the same vessel.
