Greek Parliament Approves Government's Bailout Reform Proposals
The Greek Parliament approved on Saturday the latest reform proposals, which the government in Athens submitted to the eurozone late on Thursday.
The proposed package of spending cuts, pension savings and tax increases, which Greece has to fulfill in order to be granted further bailout, garnered an overwhelming parliamentary support.
Judgment Day: Eurogroup meeting on Greece likely to bring deal
Eurozone finance ministers meet on July 11 in Brussels to discuss the Greek governent’s request for an aid program. The meeting is held in the wake of a vote on the proposal in Greek Parliament where 251 lawmakers gave Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras crucial approval for the 13 billion euros worth of austerity measures to obtain a third bailout program for Greece.

White House welcomes Greek govt proposal
The White House said on Friday it welcomed the latest proposal by the Greek government to resolve its “euro crisis” and that it was something for that country’s creditors to weigh.
“We are pleased to see that Greece has taken the step of putting forward a specific proposal, but it’s one that their creditors will have to evaluate,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters.
Juncker refers to 35 bln euros ready for ‘direct injection’ into Greek economy
Centrist Potami (River) leader Stavros Theodorakis was received in Brussels on Friday by EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker for a nearly two-hour meeting.
In statements afterwards, Theodorakis told reporters that Juncker believes the last Greek proposal is a “sufficient basis for negotiations”.
Putin: Greece did not ask for help
Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a press conference was categorical when asked whether Greece had asked for economic help from Russia. He said that Greek PM Alexis Tsipras never asked him for any financial assistance during their meetings over the last period. He added that it was wrong to lay all responsibility of the crisis solely on Greece.
National Council on Foreign Policy on July 22
In light of the recent and imminent developments in the western Balkan peninsula, the Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Kotzias has called a National Council on Foreign Policy for the 22nd of July. Nikos Kotzias is scheduled to visit a number of western Balkan countries in the upcoming days. The Council will take place after his visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
