Ponta: 100 years after World War I, peace, understanding, tolerance - solution for the future

Prime Minister Victor Ponta in Bistrita on Saturday sent a message of peace, understanding, well-being and tolerance for all Europe's inhabitants, on occasion of the events marking 100 years since the World War I outbreak, as well as 70 years since the moment when Romania, during the Second World War, turned its weapons against Nazi Germany.

Dusa, in a meeting with Thompson: Situation in Ukraine, a reason to worry for both NATO and Romania

National Defence Minister Mircea Dusa in a meeting with US Embassy Charge d'Affairs Dean Thompson on Wednesday said that the situation in Ukraine represents 'a reason to worry both for NATO and for Romania, as ally state.'

Besides the situation in Ukraine, the two officials also talked about the development of the situation in the Middle East.

The board of the centre-right Popular Movement Party, PMP, on Tuesday named Elena Udrea as its candidate in November's presidential elections.

Businessman Dinu Patriciu has died in London, where he was receiving medical care after the liver transplant procedure he underwent a year and a half ago in Milan, Italy. Medical sources have stated for AGERPRES that most probably, "his death came as a consequence of post-transplant complications".
