Bogdan Aurescu participates in international conference devoted to national minorities
Foreign Affairs Minister Bogdan Aurescu will participate, in Cluj, on Thursday, in the international conference devoted to marking 20 years since the adoption by the Council of Europe and the signing and ratification by Romania of the framework convention for the protection of national minorities, informs a press release remitted to AGERPRES.
Serbian PM Vucic: We are open to any kind of observations related to minorities
Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday stated in Craiova that both the Romanian minority in Serbia and the Serbian minority in Romania represent a bridge for an even closer relationship between the two countries, also pointing out that the government he leads is open to any kind of observations on this topic.

President Iohannis offers Romanian experts for EU's Frontex border guards agency
Romania could send upon request experts to Frontex, the European Union agency that manages the cooperation between national border guards, President Klaus Iohannis declared on Thursday evening, after the extraordinary meeting of the European Council; he said solidarity was needed with the states around the Mediterranean Sea facing immigration problems.

Romania Slashes VAT on Food to Boost Spending
Romania's centre-left government under Victor Ponta on Tuesday unveiled plans to cut VAT from 24 to 9 per cent for all food products, as well as on non-alcoholic beverages and catering services. The measure will come into force from June 1.
FAZ: Bulgarian, Romanian Benefit Receivers in Germany Up 83% in 2014
Germany has registered a surge in receivers of the Hartz-IV unemployment benefits among immigrants coming from Bulgaria and Romania in 2014, according to media reports.
Between January and December 2014, there were 83 082 receivers from Bulgaria and Romania in the country, according to official statistics of the unemployment agencies quoted by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
