Romania's current account deficit up 84.79 pct in 2017

The current account of Romania's 2017 balance of payments ran a deficit of over 6.464 billion euro, up 84.79 percent from 2016, the National Bank of Romania (BNR) said in a release on Tuesday.

Greece wins 2 medals in U23 World Rowing Championships

Greece has won two medals in the 2017 Under 23 World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Anneta Kyriakidou and Dimitra Tsamopoulou picked up a bronze medal in the BW2x double sculls with a time of 7.04.97, behind Belarus and Italy, who won goal and silver, respectively.

Romania became the new football champion and took the gold medals with a victory over Lithuania at this Sunday-ended European Homeless World Sofia 2017, BNR reported.

Bulgaria Places First at Balkan Mathematical Olympiad

Bulgarian students won four gold medals and two silver ones at the 34th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad, which has taken place in Ohrid, Macedonia, BNR reported.

In the team rankings, Bulgaria won the first place with 226 points from a maximum of 240 possible.

The Bulgarian tem was followed by the team of Serbia (208 points) and Romania (182 points).
