Petrounias adds another Euro gold to collection

Olympic gold medallist Lefteris Petrounias has just made it three in a row in the European Championships.

The Greek gymnast triumphed in the rings at Cluj in Romania on Saturday having also won in Montpellier in 2015 and in Bern in 2016.

The athlete of the Irini Peristeriou club scored 15,433 points executing perfectly a routine with a 6.30 difficulty value.

Stojanovic stuns world number 28 Babos in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN - Young Serbian female tennis player Nina Stojanovic has caused a major upset at the Shenzhen WTA tournament by defeating world number 28 Timea Babos of Hungary 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 Monday to reach the last sixteen stage.

Stojanovic won after slightly over two hours of play and will next face Ons Jabeur of Tunisia.

Halep beats Jankovic in Shenzhen

SHENZHEN - Serbia's top-ranked female tennis player Jelena Jankovic has suffered an early exit at the Shenzhen WTA tournament after losing 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to Romania's Simona Halep in the first round.

World number four Halep, who won after an hour and 49 minutes of play, will next face Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic.

Sofia to Host European Homeless Cup Next Year

Bulgaria's capital Sofia will be the host of the European Homeless Cup's next edition in the spring to come, a year ahead of schedule, organizers say.

Initially, the year announced was 2018, but the Austrian city of Graz insisted the championship should go there to mark the fifteenth anniversary of the first Homeless World Cup, of which it was also the host.

The draw ceremony was held in Istanbul, which will also host the final stage of the competition.

Bulgarian Women's Volleyball Team Qualifies for Eurovolley

The national women's volleyball team of Bulgaria will be able to participate in the European volleyball championship next year after beating Switzerland on Friday.

It took the Bulgarians five games to defeat their opponent 3:2 (20:25, 25:17, 23:25, 25:15, 15:12), with local sports websites suggesting they had underestimated the Swiss team.

Bulgaria's Dimitrov Secures Tough Victory over World's No. 194

Bulgaria's highest-ranking tennis player Grigor Dimitrov made it on Wednesday to the quarterfinals at the TEB BNP Paribas Istanbul Open tournament in Turkey, defeating qualifier Adrian Ungur (Romania).

The match lasted two hours and 14 minutes, with second-seeded Dimitrov winning a hard battle against Ungur that ended 7:5, 4:6, 7:5.

International Dance Festival in Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki Dance Festival will be held on 9 and 10 April at the at the Congress Center “I.Vellidis “and Pavilion 12 of Thessaloniki for second consecutive year.
