Turkey advances in EuroBasket, will face Montenegro

The Turkish women's national basketball team has advanced to the second group round of the 2015 European Championships and will take on Montenegro on June 17 in its first match of the new group.

Inaugural European Games start in Baku, Azerbaijan

The first ever edition of the European Olympic Games began on Friday in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, with the participation of about 6,000 athletes, including 147 Romanians. The event, featuring 20 sports, will end on June 28.

Romania's Ungur advances to second round of Caltanissetta ATP Challenger 2015

Romania's tennis player Adrian Ungur, 30, advanced to the second round of the men's single event at the 106,500-euro Caltanissetta ATP Challenger 2015 tournament in Italy after defeating French Maxime Hamou, 20, on Monday, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Ungur, ranked 193rd in the ATP ranking, needed two hours and ten minutes to defeat number 232 in the world's ranking.

Tennis: Romanians Buzean, Bara finalists at Galati women's futures tournament

Fifth seed Diana Buzean and 3rd seed Irina Maria Bara, both from Romania, face each other on Saturday, in the final of the 10,000 dollar women's futures tennis tournament of Galati.

Buzean won 6-4, 6-2 the semifinal against fellow Romanian, 4th seed Cristina Dinu, and Bara left behind Italian Anna-Giulia Remondina, 7th seed, by 6-4, 6-0.

Romania's delegation to the European Games in Baku

Romania will be represented in the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, set to start on June 12 and conclude by June 28, by 147 athletes.

The Executive Committee of the Romanian Olympics and Sports Committee (COSR) has approved, on Thursday, the makeup of the Romanian delegation, that will be composed of 83 men and 64 women, set to compete in 22 distinct sporting categories.

Romania ranks 5th at Robotics European Championship

The three teams of students and professors with the Faculty of Engineering of the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (ULBS) have ranked fifth, the best result of Romania in the history of participations in the Robotics European Championship - EUROBOT Robomovies 2015, which took place over May 21 - 24 in Yverdon-les-Bains (Switzerland), according to a release sent AGERPRES on Tuesday.

The wines made by Cotnari SA have added three more medals to their tally, this time at the 2015 summer edition of Concours Mondial, the world competition of wines in Brussels.
