European Parliament votes to end visa-free travel for Americans
The European Parliament has voted to end visa-free travel for Americans within the EU.
It comes after the US failed to agree visa-free travel for citizens of five EU countries – Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Poland and Romania – as part of a reciprocity agreement. US citizens can normally travel to all countries in the bloc without a visa.
Syrian businesspeople in Turkey do not want to be treated like 'refugees'

MEPs Want Visas Reimposed on US Citizens
MEPs have called on the European Commission to take reciprocal measures against the US due to ongoing US visa requirements for citizens of Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Poland and Cyprus.
European Parliamentarians have urged the Commission to adopt the necessary legal measures "within two months", the parliament said in a resolution adopted on Thursday.
ΟΤΕ fourth quarter core profit falls 1.4 percent
Greece's biggest telecoms operator OTE posted on Thursday a 1.4 percent drop in fourth-quarter core profit, hurt by tough conditions in Greece and Romania.
OTE, the former national monopoly now 40 percent owned and managed by Germany's Deutsche Telekom, has lost market share to smaller rivals in recent years, while Greek tax increases have also hit profits.
Greek retailer Jumbo six-month profit up 12 pct on strong foreign growth
Greece's biggest listed toy retailer, posted on Tuesday a 12 percent rise in net profit for the six months to December last year, thanks to a double-digit percentage growth in Bulgaria and Romania.
Net profit for the six-months came in at 81.4 million euros, up from 72.5 million euros in the year ago period.
Romania Plans to Bolster Army After Budget Hike
Romania's Defence Ministry presented its 2016 activity report under intense scrutiny concerning how it intends to spend its new increased budget.
Defence Minister Daniel Les said Romania's armes forces remained in urgent need of new equipment due to under-funding over several years.
In 2016, Romania bought its first F-16 Fighting Falcon jets, he noted.
Ryanair Announces New Winter Services from Bulgaria
The Irish low-cost airline ''Ryanair'' will implement their summer program for flight also during the winter of 2017, and the tickets are already on sale from a starting price of EUR 9.99 per direction, said the company during their conference in Sofia on Monday.
The reason for their decision is the increase in ticket sales in Bulgaria and the expectation that it will continue.
