Bulgarian Socialist Head Admits to Disagreeing with President-Elect on Judicial Reform
Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) leader Korneliya Ninova has acknowledged her disagreement with President-elect Rumen Radev, backed by her party, on how a key reform to the judicial system should proceed.
"We have a different notion about how things would happen," she has told private bTV broadcaster in an interview.
EU report focuses on hardships of EU's Roma population
A report issued by a European Union agency says that about 80 percent of almost 34,000 Roma, or Gypsies, surveyed in nine EU nations live below the poverty level.
The report also says that every third Roma child goes to bed hungry at least once a month, while 50 percent between 6 and 24 do not attend school.
Sofia to Host European Homeless Cup Next Year
Bulgaria's capital Sofia will be the host of the European Homeless Cup's next edition in the spring to come, a year ahead of schedule, organizers say.
Initially, the year announced was 2018, but the Austrian city of Graz insisted the championship should go there to mark the fifteenth anniversary of the first Homeless World Cup, of which it was also the host.

16 European countries, including Bulgaria, will seek a new agreement with Russia on arms control, reported Reuters.
"European security is in danger," stated German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. "We need to have more conversations with Russia, not less, no matter how complicated our relations are at the moment."
Serbia to play Russia, Turkey in EuroBasket group stage

ISTANBUL - The Serbia men's national basketball team was on Tuesday drawn to play Turkey, Russia, Latvia, Belgium and Great Britain in Group D of EuroBasket 2017 in Istanbul.
The draw ceremony was held in Istanbul, which will also host the final stage of the competition.
